A civilian was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device blast in Tral area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, 2 March, reported India Today.

According to the report, security patrol vehicles were targeted but the IED device exploded prematurely around 3 am in Amlar area.

Window panes of houses were shattered and there was a large crater at the blast site, IANS quoted police as saying.

A police team has reached the spot for further investigation.

The blast comes weeks after the Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed. Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for the attack, which resulted in escalation of hostilities between India and Pakistan.

This is a developing story. More details are awaited.
