A 2014-batch IAS officer posted in Mizoram was allegedly harassed in Delhi’s Saket court on Thursday, 10 January, reported ANI.

According to The Indian Express, the officer was molested inside the court’s premises by the advocate, and her husband was beaten up when he tried to help her.

The police have found CCTV footage of the couple being attacked by a group of advocates after a heated argument, reported The Indian Express.

Safdarjung Hospital informed the police about the couple who had come in for treatment and narrated the incident, police said.

“Police went to the spot and their medical examination was conducted. Police later recorded the woman’s statement, she handled a property-related case during her earlier posting in the city.”

The woman officer was summoned for a hearing in a property-related case, according to the police.

An FIR under IPC sections 354 (molestation), 323 (causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 34 (common intimidation) has been registered, the DCP said. No arrests have been made so far, reported The Indian Express.

However, the lawyer has alleged that the woman instigated the fight. According to him, there was no molestation involved. The lawyer has sustained injuries on his cheek, Saket Court Bar Association President Karnail Singh said, according to The Indian Express.
