A MiG-27 UPG aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Godana near Sheoganj in Sirohi, Rajasthan at 11:45 am on Sunday, 31 March, reported ANI. However, the pilot was able to eject safely.

The aircraft, which was on a routine mission, had taken off from Utarlai Air Force base. It experienced engine problems, leading to the crash about 120 km south of Jodhpur.

According to preliminary reports, there is no loss of property or life. A Court of Inquiry will investigate the cause of accident, the report said.

This is reportedly the ninth crash this year.
