Thirty-four-year-old Wing Commander Abhinandan of the Indian Air Force (IAF) returned to India, after being held captive by Pakistan for almost three days.

“We are so proud of him,” said Abhinandan’s father Air Marshal Simhakutty Varthaman.

India echoes his sentiment.

The announcement about his release was made by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who termed it as a “gesture of peace.”
