Petrol and Diesel May Soon Be Delivered to Your Home
The move is expected to reduce the long queues at fuel stations, which are a regular occurrence.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas tweeted on Friday that it is considering options to introduce home delivery of petrol and diesel.
The move will reduce the frequent long wait and snaking queues at fuel stations.
This home delivery of fuel is being mulled as the world's third biggest oil consumer experiments with daily price revision of petrol and diesel at select towns beginning 1 May.
About 3.5 crore people come to fuel stations every day, with transactions amounting to over Rs 2,500 crore annually, the Ministry tweeted.
The Ministry also said it has adopted a "three-pronged approach" to promote digital payments: through rapid expansion of the payment infrastructure at fuel stations, conducting awareness campaigns & incentivising consumers.
