Here’s the gospel truth on world war three – It will be over the holy cow.
Or at least that’s what Mahamandleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri, chairman of executive council of the Madhya Pradesh Gaupalan Evam Pashudhan Samvardhan Board told The Indian Express.
Clad in saffron clothes, with the ashtagandha paste smeared on his forehead, his look complete with a rudraksha mala hanging from neck, Giri said:
A staunch believer of cow protection as an ethical practice and the sanctity of gaiyya maata, he had more gyaan to offer:
Giri has been a former member of the VHP, and was also involved with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He also boasts of being associated with the “reconversion” of Christians to Hinduism in MP and Chhattisgarh.
He also echoes the thoughts of several other self-proclaimed gau rakshaks when he says that the cow’s milk, urine and dung have medicinal qualities that can fight diseases like cancer and epilepsy.
He strongly believes that a lot needs to be done to work towards cow preservation, awareness and research.
Giri’s remarks (obviously) triggered a slew of comments.
