The Quint’s investigative reports The Real ‘Cow Boys’ of Haryana, published in two parts on 12 September and 16 September, compelled readers to ponder and comment on social media about the new cow protection law and the cow smuggling in Haryana. As a journalist, I have reported the ground reality, versions of different people, starting from cow smugglers to gau rakshak and farmers. Most readers have condemned the new cow protection law of the Haryana government and have endorsed that ‘cows’ are used for politics rather for the welfare of humans or animals.
