Pampore Attack: LeT Chief’s Son-In-Law the Suspected Mastermind

Khalid Waleed, the son-in-law of Lashkar-e-Taiba Chief Hafiz Saeed, is suspected to have orchestrated the attack on a CRPF convoy in Pampore on 25 June, which killed eight jawans and injured 22, reported The Times of India.

Intelligence agencies and the state police have found credible intel to prove that Waleed was behind the attack, the report said.

Waleed is said to have been assisted by two of his deputies, Hanzla Adnan and Sajid Jat, who reportedly played handlers to the two terrorists.

Incidentally, Adnan and Jat were also intimately involved in an attack on a BSF convoy in August last year, the report said.

Intelligence agencies have also identified LeT’s India handler as ‘Abu Dujana’, divisional commander for south Kashmir. Dujana organised the stay for the two militants and their travel to the attack site, the report said.

According to sources cited in the report, the proof of Pakistan’s role is apparent from the ‘Pakistan Ordnance Factory’ markings on the seven grenades that the militants carried. There were also medicines, track suits and shoes made in Pakistan, the report said.
