Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel Drops 90% Cases Against Patidars  

The Gujarat government has withdrawn 90 percent police cases against the Patel community members.

  • As many as 391 of the total 438, or 90 percent, cases against the Patel community have been withdrawn, and Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has now asked the state Home Department to bring up for a quick review another 182 cases, according to an official statement on Sunday.

  • The decision to withdraw most of the cases against Patels was taken at a meeting to reviews the cases on Friday, the statement said.

  • The cases also include those filed during the 25 August 2015 rally of the community where allegations of police high-handedness were raised.
