A government high school was set on fire on Tuesday, 24 October, in the Watzoo zone of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir allegedly by militants, reported news agency ANI.

On the visuals obtained by ANI, debris of the school’s burnt roof can be seen along with charred furniture and scorched walls.

Post the abrogation of Article 370, instances of violence in the Valley have risen as militants have been asking the residents to not cooperate with the Indian government.

With only a few days left for the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 to come into effect, the Centre has maintained that all efforts are being made to restore normalcy and maintain tranquility in the region.
