Four Girls Wounded in Army Firing at J&K’s Shopian During Iftar
Four girls suffered injuries in the firing, of which two have sustained bullet wounds and have been hospitalised.

Four girls were injured after the army opened fire on protesters in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday evening, the Greater Kashmir reported.
The Greater Kashmir report cited GNS news agency as saying that the clashes erupted as the locals were angered by the recent civilian killings and objected to the army hosting an iftar party in the locality.
“The army had approached the local Auqaf two days ago but were told not to hold any iftar party,” the GNS report quoted a local as saying.
According to the Greater Kashmir report, the two girls who suffered bullet wounds have been identified as Aqsa Jan and Shobi Jan. They have been referred to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
Other two girls injured are Shakira Akhtar and Shaafi Jan – both are sisters and have been admitted to PHC Harmain.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that an army patrol of 34 RR had gone to the Jamia Masjid for participating in iftar with the locals of the area.
The police has started legal proceedings in the matter and the army is said to have been looking into the details of the incident.
