Every year, at the end of the ten-day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees immerse the elephant headed God in a sea or a river.
Chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” and sounds of dhols (huge drums) reverberate throughout Mumbai, Maharashtra as devotees escort the idols towards the sea.
