Retail fuel prices were slashed for the 11th straight day on Saturday, 9 June, with the price of petrol being reduced by 40-42 paise, while the price of diesel saw a cut of 30-32 paise per litre, reported Economic Times.
The prevailing price of petrol on Saturday, after the cut, stands at Rs 77.02 per litre in Delhi compared to Rs 77.42 on Friday, 8 June. According to the new rate chart, in cities like Kolkata and Chennai, petrol prices stand at Rs 79.68 and Rs 79.95 respectively, reported Financial Express. In Mumbai, the price of petrol has fallen below Rs 85 per litre, retailing at Rs 84.84.
In the last 11 days, fall in prices has reduced the cost of petrol by Rs 1.42 in Delhi and Rs 1.40 in Mumbai.
The price of diesel also fell by 30 paise per litre in Delhi, which is now at Rs 68.28. In Mumbai, it is priced at Rs 72.70 per litre. In Kolkata and Chennai, it is retailing at Rs 70.83 and Rs 72.08 respectively, reported Economic Times.
