A day after Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in Poonch and Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir, it has now been reported that they are at it again. This time, ceasefire violation by Pakistan has taken place in Kalsian, Naushera sector, early on Tuesday morning.
Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire four times on Monday by targeting forward posts and civilian areas along the LoC in Poonch district with 120 mm mortar bombs and opening fire with automatic weapons, drawing retaliation from Indian troops.
Two women and a man were injured in mortar and small arms firing from across the de facto boundary with Pakistan on Monday, officials said.
Pakistan shelled posts along the LoC in Shahpur, Krishnagati, Mandi and Sabzian sectors of Poonch district. They fired 120 mm, 80 mm mortar bombs, automatic weapons and small arms.
Earlier Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in Poonch using small arms, automatic and mortar bombs (in Shahpur) in Poonch, Defence Spokesman Col Manish Mehta said.
A police officer said the firing started at around 10:45 am.
Pakistani troops had earlier briefly opened fire in Krishnagati sector of Poonch district around 01:00 pm, officials said.
There have been five ceasefire violations since Monday and 10 since the surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army on the intervening night of 28 and 29 September.
