Two US-based online retailers have been booked for selling products with Hindu religious symbols.

FIRs were lodged against yeswevibe.com for selling shoes with the Om symbol and another against lostcoast.com for using the image of Ganesha on its beer label and packaging.

Bharat Scouts and Guides Commissioner Naresh Kadyan, who filed the complaints, told ANI that “we will not rest until the company stops selling products bearing religious symbols and figures in India and, if possible, in the United States.”

Kadyan stated that the issue is not religious as the Om symbol carries a “positive energy”.

“The same is considered with the Lord Ganesh’s figure. Every religious person believes that. We have given two days time to Delhi Police to take stringent action and if they fail to act we would again approach ministers from the BJP and the AAP Government," he said.

Earlier in January, the Ministry of External Affairs received several complaints of Amazon selling flip-flops with Mahatma Gandhi's image.
