A government school teacher from Assam’s Goalpara district landed in trouble for posting derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, The Indian Express (IE) reported.

An FIR was registered against Abu Taleb, a Hindi teacher at Lakhipur Higher Secondary School based on two complaints – one filed by a local BJP member, and the second from the Inspector of Schools, Goalpara.

Taleb has reportedly been suspended, pending inquiry by the Inspector of Schools.

In July 2017, an FIR was filed against a man from Balliadistrict in Uttar Pradesh for posting derogatory remarks on PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media.

The Mumbai cyber police in July last year had filed an FIR against All India Bakchod co-founder Tanmay Bhat for allegedly “insulting” the prime minister through a tweet.
