Bhajanpura Family Killed by Relative 9 Days Before Bodies Found
Decomposed bodies of an e-rickshaw driver, his wife and their three kids were found inside their Bhajanpura house.
A day after a family of five was found dead in a house in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura on Wednesday, 12 February, police arrested a relative in connection with murder.

The deceased have been identified as Shambhu Chaudhary (43), Sunita (37), two sons (17 and 14) and daughter (12)
What We Know About The Murderer?
The accused, identified as Prabhu Mishra, a cousin of Shambhu’s, murdered the family on 3 February, police said.
Mishra had borrowed Rs 30,000 from Chaudhary. The murders were a fallout of a dispute related to that money, police said.
Police said they started checking CCTV footage from 3 February after suspicion arose over no activity on Shambhu’s phone post that date. The children were also last seen in school on 3 February.
Mishra confessed that he used an iron rod to attack the family, police added.
How Were The Bodies Recovered?
Police received information at 11.16 am from neighbours, who complained of foul smell emanating from the house.
Police broke open the door of the house and found the five decomposed bodies.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Shambhu Chaudhary was earning his livelihood by driving an e-rickshaw in Bhajanpura.
He had put as a tenant at the rented house for the past five months. He hailed from Supole district in Bihar, the DCP added.
