The Quint has got its hands on the detailed report submitted by the Delhi Police to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) incident and JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar’s arrest.

The report sets out the events that transpired on 9 February. It also says that Omar Khalid organised the event on 9 February on the JNU campus and reports all that happened during and after the event.

  • Cultural event was being organised at Sabarmati Dhaba at 5 pm.
  • Alarmed by language of poster for the festival Y&S officer informed police.
  • The permission to host the event was cancelled by JNU authorities.

  • JNU Students were seen shouting anti-Indian slogans. From reliable sources, it was learnt that Kanhaiya Kumar and other students were in the student groups.
  • In the meantime, ABVP students reached scene shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
