The assets of India’s most wanted gangster – Dawood Ibrahim – have been seized by British authorities, said reports.

India Today on Wednesday reported that the don’s properties worth $6.7 billion have been frozen.

CNN-News18, quoting a local UK newspaper, said that he owns a hotel in Warwickshire and other properties in the Midlands.

Dawood, who is also the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, was the only “Indian national” on an updated list of financial sanctions released by the UK in August this year.

Dawood had appeared on the UK Treasury department’s ‘Consolidated List of Financial Sanctions Targets in the UK’, with three recorded addresses in Pakistan, where he is reportedly based, although Pakistan has repeatedly denied this claim.

The authorities in the UK had also released 21 aliases for the underworld don.
