The tragedy of Mohd Akhlaq’s murder in Dadri is being dug up and distorted for political ends. The meat in his house was declared mutton, not beef, 8 months ago. But now anonymous sources claim it was indeed a cow. The Quint looks at how the claims about the animal meat don’t add up, and what’s really at stake is religious polarisation before the UP election.
