Watch: CRPF Personnel Save Teen From Drowning in J&K’s Baramulla
Fourteen-year-old Nageena was saved from drowning by CRPF constables MG Naidu and Nalla Upendra.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel saved a 14-year-old girl from drowning in a river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla on Monday, 15 July.
The minor, identified as Nageena, slipped into the fast-moving stream at Tangmarg and was washed away by the strong currents.
Learning about the situation, a group of six CRPF personnel, who were nearby, rushed to save the girl. While two constables waded through the stream to catch hold of the girl, the others ran downstream as a second line of defence in case the first two jawans could not rescue her.
Both the constables, MG Naidu and Nalla Upendra of 176 Battalion, were later awarded DG's Commendation Disc and Commendation Certificate by the DG CRPF for their brave act.
Their brave act also received a lot of praise on social media.
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also tweeted praising CRPF.
