1. 6-Year Old Abducted, Raped

A six-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped in Palghar in Maharashtra on Wednesday, 28 March. According to police, the girl went missing in the early hours of Tuesday and was found close to her house on Wednesday afternoon.

“The girl is undergoing treatment. Tests for rape are positive, and she was also starved,” police said.

A suspect in the case, is in custody but no arrests have been made so far.

2. Woman Killed by Husband, In-Laws for Dowry in UP

A woman was allegedly killed and her body burnt by her husband and in-laws for dowry, police said Wednesday.

According to a complaint filed by Nenshri's father, her in-laws were harassing her for dowry.

She was allegedly killed by her husband and in-laws, who later burnt her body, Khatoli Station House Officer Harsharan Sharma said.

A case was registered against four people and her husband and two brother-in-laws were arrested, Sharma said.

The couple got married in 2013.

3. Man Asks 26-Year-Old to Return Loan, Killed

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Delhi for allegedly killing a person, who had asked him to pay back a loan of Rs 30,000, police said Tuesday. The case was solved within 24 hours of the incident, they said.

Nitin Yadav was arrested for killing Bhoj Narayanan in south-west Delhi with the help of a juvenile, who has been apprehended, police said.

They said Yadav, a resident of Kapashera, made a call to the police control room (PCR) on March 21 to cover up his act.

He had informed the PCR that he was taking a person, who was lying injured on a road, to a hospital, police said.

On his statement, an enquiry was made but there no eye witnesses came forward, they said.

4. Woman Found Dead in Hostel Room

Body of a 20-yera old woman was found hanging in her hostel room in Lucknow on Wednesday. According to the police, the sister of the deceased has sadi that she was under stress due to examinations, even as no suicide note was found in the room.

Circle officer of Ghazipur area, Deepak Kumar Singh, said there was no sign of foul play and that the woman’s family had not filed a complaint.

Police also said that the woman's roommate found her hanging at around 7.30 in the morning, following which she informed the hostel warden.

5. Woman’s Body With Stab Wounds Found in Train

An unidentified woman's body with stab wounds was found inside the Surat-Virar passenger train on Wednesday morning. The on-duty police constable on the train found the body at around 6.45 am in a coach near the engine. The train had left at 4.15 am.

The body had stab wounds on he chest, shoulder and abdomen. The name ‘Bachubhai Mashel’ was embossed on one of the hands of the victim.

Police found a red colour bag containing Rs 2,000, in addition to a few Solapuri bed sheets, sweaters, a trouser and a t-shirt.

6. Six Arrested in Chennai for Robbing Rs 98 Lakh

The police in Chennai has arrested six people for allegedly robbing a man of Rs 98 lakh in a bus, posing as cops.

The accused have been identified as Kalandar, Shadiq, Vinoth, Ramkumar, Ravikumar, and Raji. Kalandar is a native of Ramanathapuram while the others are from Chennai.

The incident happened on the night of March 9 when Gopinath of Thanjavur was on his way to the bus terminus in an MTC bus.A three-member gang, claiming to be policemen, boarded the bus at the Taylor’s Road bus stop and handcuffed Gopinath for carrying cash without documents. They took him in a car and left him at Vandalur, escaping with the cash.

7. Four Labourers Killed During Illegal Sand Mining Operations

Four labourers, including a woman, have died after a sand dune collapsed on them during illegal sand mining operations in Rajasthan's Bundi district, police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Chambal Crocodile Sanctuary near Sunagar village on Tuesday evening, SHO, Keshoraipatan Police Station, Abhishek Pareek said.

The police have lodged a case of culpable homicide against the contractor, identified as Pappu Gujjar, who had employed the labourers for the illegal operation, the officer added.

The deceased were identified as Ramkumar Bairwa, Suresh Bairwa, Dhankanwar Bairwa and Mahavir Dhobi, all residents of Chandrasel village, he said.

The bodies were recovered on Tuesday and were handed over to the respective families after postmortem on Wednesday morning, Pareek said.

8. Two Arrested for Running Fake Visa Racket

The Special Operations Group in Gujarat has arrested two persons after it busted a fake visa racket in Vadodara in Gujarat.

The accused duo has allegedly cheated more than 150 people across various states and duped money to the tune of Rs 2.5 crore. The police is looking for another key accused in Delhi.

The gang was busted after the victims approached the cops who began investigations and raided Mahesh Rabari, one of the accused's travel agency.

"So far, 150 persons have been duped by the accused but many more file complaint in future. We will now track down Vikas Sharma who supplied fake ETA stickers,” police said.

9. Juvenile Apprehended for Stabbing Man

A 16-year-old was apprehended for allegedly thrashing and stabbing a 19-year-old man in south Delhi's Tigri area, police said Wednesday, 27 march.

The injured was identified as Gaurav and according to his statement two persons had attacked him, they said.

At noon on March 21, the police received information from AIIMS that an injured man, suspected to be the victim in a criminal case, had been admitted, a senior police officer said.

On March 22, the doctor in-charge, based on medical reports, opined that Gaurav had been physically assaulted and stabbed multiple times in the upper abdomen, chest, left side of the neck and incised wound on the right side of the face.

Subsequently, a case under section 307 of the IPC (attempt to murder) was registered and the juvenile was apprehended on the same day, they said.
