According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are now 3,19,840 active cases across the country, while 5,92,031 patients have been cured or discharged, and one has migrated.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that the COVID-19 situation in Delhi is under control, but cautioned against complacency. "As per estimates, 2.25 lakh cases were predicted by 15 July in Delhi but after united efforts, the cases today are half of the prediction. Today, we have 1.15 lakh cases," he was quoted as saying by ANI.

The Centre on Wednesday said that the recovery rate among COVID-19 patients has improved to 63.20 percent, with the recoveries/deaths ratio standing at 96.05 : 3.95 percent.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that the COVID-19 situation in Delhi is under control, but cautioned against complacency.
"As per estimates, 2.25 lakh cases were predicted by 15 July in Delhi but after united efforts, the cases today are half of the prediction. Today, we have 1.15 lakh cases," he was quoted as saying by ANI.
Pointing out that 20,000-23,000 tests for COVID-19 are being conducted in Delhi daily, Kejriwal said there are 18,600 active cases in the city, while only 4,000 beds are occupied.
Around 20 staff members of the Governor house in Bihar have tested positive for COVID-19, ANI reported on Wednesday.
The state has reported 1,320 new COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 20,173.
At least 2,432 new COVID-19 cases and 44 deaths were reported in Andhra Pradesh in the the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 35,451 including 18,378 persons recovered/discharged, ANI reported quoting State Health Department.
A parliamentary panel on home affairs met today and discussed important issues related to COVID-19, ANI reported. The panel demanded that the drugs for COVID-19 treatment should be easily available and affordable.
The committee also raised the issue of black marketing of drugs related to COVID-19. Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Joint Secretary Health Ministry Lav Agarwal were present in the meeting. The meeting was headed by Congress leader Anand Sharma.
The Bengaluru Police Commissioner has ordered ban on online sale of liquor in the area till the end of lockdown.
Lockdown has been imposed in Bengaluru for seven days, which started from 8 pm on Tuesday and will continue till 5 am on 22 July in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Reports of complete lockdown in Utarakhand from 16-31 July on social media are rumours, ANI reported quoting the CMO.

At least 35 personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. A total of 356 personnel have recovered from the disease and there are 348 active cases as of now, the ITBP said.

At least 7,975 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 2,75,640. The Recovery rate in the state is 55.37%, according to the State Health Department.
At least 638 new COVID-19 cases and nine deaths have been reported in Madhya Pradesh today, taking active cases to 5,053 and death toll to 682, ANI reported quoting State Health Department.
