The number of coronavirus cases in India rose by 28,701 to 8,78,254 on Monday, 13 July, in what is the biggest one-day spike in numbers yet. Meanwhile, the death toll increased by 500 to 23,174.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are now 3,01,609 active cases across the country, while 5,53,470 patients have been cured or discharged, and one has migrated.

  • The UP government on Sunday announced that it will continue putting the state under lockdown during weekends to curb the spread of COVID-19
  • Karnataka Minister CT Ravi said on Twitter that he has tested positive for coronavirus
  • A total of 1,18,06,256 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till 12 July, of which 2,19,103 samples were tested on Sunday, the ICMR said

130 New Cases in Goa

At least 130 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Goa today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 2,583, including 1,026 active cases, 1,540 recovered and 17 deaths, ANI reported.

891 New Cases in Himachal Pradesh

At least 891 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Himachal Pradesh today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 1,243, including 292 active cases, 927 recovered and 9 deaths.

Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar Announces Complete Lockdown

Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district administration announced total lockdown in Nagar Nigam Rudrapur area and adjacent rural areas - Phool Bagh, Chhatarpur, Matkota, Bindu Khera, Bhamraula and Loharri from 12 am tonight to 12 am of 16 July, ANi reported.

544 New Cases in Rajasthan

At least 544 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths were reported in Rajasthan today, as of 8:30 pm. Total number of cases in the state is now at 24,936, including 5,788 active cases and 518 deaths, ANI reported quoting State Health Department.

1,246 New Cases in Delhi

At least 1,246 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Delhi today. The total number of positive cases in the national capital rises to 1,13,740 including 91,312 recovered/discharged/migrated and 3,411 deaths.

2,738 New Cases in Karnataka

At least 2,738 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the state is now at 41,581, including 16,248 discharged, 24,572 active cases and 761 deaths.

CRPF Reports 12th Death Due to COVID-19

A CRPF Sub-Inspector posted in Kulgam died due to COVID-19. His Cremation will take place in Srinagar. This is the 12th death in CRPF due to the virus.

357 New Cases in Punjab

At least 357 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Punjab today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 8,178, including 5,586 discharged and 204 deaths.

902 New Cases in Gujarat

At least 902 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths were reported in Gujarat in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the state is now at 42,808, including 29,806 cured/discharged and 2,057 deaths.

6,497 New Cases in Maharashtra

At least 6,497 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra today. The otal number of cases in the state is now at 2,60,924, including 1,44,507 discharged, 1,05,637 active cases and 10,482 deaths.

71 New Cases in Uttarakhand

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the state stands at 3,608 after 71 positive cases were reported in Uttarakhand. The total death toll stands at 49, ANiI reported quoting Uttarakhand State Control Room.

449 New Cases in kerala

At least 449 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths reported were in Kerala today, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. The fatality rate in Kerala is 0.39%, he said.

4,328 New COVID-19 Cases in Tamil Nadu

At least 4,328 COVID-19 cases were reported in Tamil Nadu today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 1,42,798, including 92,567 discharged, 48,196 active cases and 2,032 deaths.

Tamil Nadu Extends Suspension of Buses till 31 July

Tamil Nadu on Monday extended suspension of bus services till 31 July in view of a spike in COVID-19 cases. The suspension was supposed to be lifted on 15 July.

1,935 New Cases in Andhra Pradesh

At least 1,935 more COVID-19 cases were reported in Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the state is now at 31,103, including 14,274 active cases, 16,464 discharged and 365 deaths, ANI reported quoting State's COVID Control Room

Lockdown in Dakshin Kannada District from 16 July

Dakshin Kannada district will be under lockdown from 16 July for a week.

“We have decided to impose complete lockdown in Dakshina Kannada district from 16 July for one week. Lockdown norms will be issued soon by Deputy Commissioner,” Kota Srinivas Poojary, District in-charge Minister announced, as quoted by ANI.

616 New COVID-19 Cases in Odisha, Tally Rises to 13,737

Odisha has reported 616 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths, taking the tally in the state to 13,737 and the death toll to 70.

Lockdown Restrictions Reimposed in Kashmir

Strict lockdown restrictions have been reimposed in most parts of Kashmir after a sudden surge in COVID-19 cases in the Valley over the last one week, officials were quoted by PTI as saying on Monday.
