In a horrific incident in the heart of Chennai, a BCom student was murdered by a man with a knife outside her college premises in the KK Nagar locality. The victim, identified as Ashwini, was a student of Meenakshi College, and was stabbed to death by a man named Azhagesan during the day on Friday, 9 March.

After the incident, various bystanders held the accused, tied him up, and thrashed him, owing to which he sustained injuries, reported The News Minute. He was subsequently handed over to the Chennai police.

The police has begun its probe into the incident, and is ascertaining whether it was a case of revenge and stalking. The victim's acquaintances, along with the college authorities and eyewitnesses are also being questioned in this regard, it was further reported.

Ashwini was a resident of Maduravoyal in Chennai, reported Sun News.
