The Ministry of Civil Aviation opened up the first draft of passenger’s charter for public consultation, spelling out reforms in cancellation fee, compensations and plans of introducing in-flight wifi services.

A revamped version of the AirSewa mobile and web application is being planned which will allow users to login using their social media ids in a safe manner, reported News18.

The new norms are expected to be notified by 15 July, after public comments on the draft charter have been sought by the Ministry of Civil Aviation within a month.

The cancellation charges will also be printed prominently on the ticket in order to prevent the airline and their agents from levying charges greater than the basic fare plus fuel surcharge, reported News18.
