Chandigarh Airport to Be Named After Shaheed Bhagat Singh Soon

Haryana Assembly has passed a resolution to rename the Chandigarh Airport as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport.

The Haryana Assembly has passed a resolution to rename Chandigarh Airport to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport. A proposal regarding this will soon be sent to the Civil Aviation Ministry. However, the Punjab and Haryana government are at loggerheads regarding the naming of the airport, according to The Hindustan Times.

Apart from this, the airport in Mohali has been embroiled in a controversy with the Punjab and Haryana High Courts over why international operations have not begun at the airport.
