Under-Construction Flyovers Collapse in UP’s Basti & WB’s Siliguri

Four people were injured in the Basti flyover collapse, while there have no casualties from the Siliguri collapse.

A lintel of an under-construction flyover on National Highway 28 collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti on Saturday, 11 August, leaving four people injured and two others trapped under the debris, ANI reported.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the local administration for an immediate rescue operation, and to ease the traffic on the highway.

In a similar incident, a portion of National Highway-31D's railway flyover guarder collapsed in Goaltuli area of West Bengal’s Siliguri. No casualties were reported and restoration work is underway, ANI reported.

Villagers from the area blocked the highway in protest of the incident.
