To control India’s population, Yoga guru Ramdev on Wednesday, 23 January, suggested that authorities should take away voting rights and jobs of people who have more than two children.

Speaking in Aligarh, Ramdev (52) said that the government should snatch voting rights, jobs and treatment facilities from people who have more than two kids, irrespective of their religion, news agency ANI reported.

“To control population of the country, voting rights, jobs and treatment facilities should be taken away from people who give birth to more than two kids, whether they are Hindus or Muslims. Then only the population will be controlled.”

Last year, the yoga guru had said that people with more than two children should be deprived of access to government schools and jobs, and even facilities at government hospitals.

He had also said that people who don’t get married should get a “special honour.”

“In this country, people like me, who never get married, should receive a special honour. Those who get married and produce more than two children should be denied voting rights.”
