Former NewsX editor-in-chief Rahul Shivshankar, also titled “Arnab Lite” by Newslaundry’s Abhinandan Sekhri, will take over as Chief Editor at Times Now, after Goswami’s departure.

Shivshankar was already announced as the host of the channel’s prime-time show ‘The Newshour’.

With over two decades of experience in journalism, Shivshankar has also worked with India Today, Headlines Today and NewsX.

Rahul has worked under Arnab Goswami in the past and was part of the senior editorial team at Times Now before he quit.

Editor-in-Chief and President of Times Now Arnab Goswami’s last day at work was on 18 November.

The Newshour anchor got a pretty fitting farewell, with Times Now employees reminding him of his own quotes from the many boisterous debates hosted by him.

With his resignation from the news network, Goswami has also relinquished his hold over Times Now’s most popular prime-time slot.

He had earlier given a speech to the Times Now bureau upon his resignation, which can be watched below.

Following his resignation, a churn is expected in the English TV news sector, with several employees of Times Now quitting, and former employees expected to return.

Earlier there were names like India Today’s Rahul Kanwal doing the rounds as possible replacements for Goswami, who was with Times Now for a decade.
