Army Officer Dies Rescuing Jawan From Drowning in Rajasthan

An army officer lost his life while saving a jawan who was drowning during an Army exercise in Rajasthan's Ganganagar district, the police said on Friday, 19 April 2019.

The Times of India reported that the jawan is undergoing treatment at a local hospital and the police have kept the body of the 24-year-old officer at the Karanpur mortuary.

The officer, identified as Lt Anurag Shukla, was a resident of Ranchi, Jharkhand, reported TOI.

A probe into this incident has been ordered by the Army.
