One Army Jawan Killed, 2 Injured in IED Blast in J&K’s Akhnoor

An Army jawan was killed and two more were injured in an explosion near the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector on Sunday, 17 November, news agency PTI reported quoting officials.

The explosion took place when an Army team was patrolling the Pallanwalla area, they added.

The deceased soldier has been identified as Havaldar Santosh Kumar, a resident of Pura Bhadauria village in Agra.

According to The Indian Express, the blast was effected by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The officials said the whole area was cordoned off and further details of the incident were awaited.
