The mother of Ankit Saxena's girlfriend, Shehzadi, allegedly used road rage as a pretext, ramming her scooter into 23-year-old Ankit’s car, to get him out of the vehicle before he was fatally attacked, reported Hindustan Times.
Saxena was beaten and stabbed to death in public view, reportedly by his alleged Muslim girlfriend’s family on 1 February.
Pappu, an eyewitness to the incident, told HT that the girl's mother drove her vehicle into Saxena's. He eventually got out of the car to examine the damages, unaware that the person who caused this was his girlfriend's mother.
Narrating the incident that followed, Pappu claimed that the girl's mother confronted Saxena when he got out of the car, and was soon joined by her relatives who attacked and heckled him. According to the report, Pappu owns a shop near the spot where Saxena was murdered.
The killers reportedly struck a "fatal blow" on Saxena's neck using a sharp knife after his parents had arrived at the location.
According to the report, some eyewitnesses also claim that Saxena did not lose his life immediately after the knife attack.
While some claim that he collapsed three to four minutes after the attack, others alleged that he was on a lookout for cops even after being stabbed. However, the police reportedly arrived at the location only after he was taken to the hospital.
All the three accused in the case – the girl’s parents and her maternal uncle – have been arrested by the police, while a the girl’s minor brother has been apprehended.
