  • All India Government Nurses Federation (AIGNF) on Tuesday staged a protest in New Delhi against alleged “derogatory” remarks and acts against them on The Kapil Sharma Show, after not receiving an apology of any kind for several days.

  • Earlier, AIGNF had written to I&B Minister Arun Jaitley and Health Ministry to direct the Censor Board to ensure such instances are not repeated and insisted that the footage of the controversial episodes of the show, in which the alleged derogatory remarks were made, be removed from the internet.

  • Referring to the episodes from 7-8 May and also 15 May, when water was thrown on the face of a nurse by an actor, AIGNF secretary general GK Khurana said these acts have hurt the sentiments of nurses working all over the world, further adding that the nurses’ uniform was also insulted by dancing along with the cheerleaders.
