Agra Youth Live-Streams Suicide, 2,750 People Watch But Don’t Help
Munna Kumar had been depressed on account of failing to clear the Army entrance exams five times.
A 24-year-old man from Agra committed suicide by hanging himself and live-streamed the entire incident on Facebook on Wednesday, 11 July.
The young man, identified as Munna Kumar, a BSc graduate and resident of Shanti Nagar, had posted a 1.09-minute-long video on Facebook, before eventually hanging himself for not having cleared the Army entrance examination, even after five attempts, reports The Times of India.
Kumar has left a six-page suicide note, in which he said that he had disappointed his family greatly by not having managed to crack the Army entrance exam.

Kumar’s family told the newspaper that they had no idea he was having suicidal thoughts.
His younger brother, Vikas Kumar, said, “Hours before committing suicide, he was normal. We had dinner together. No one in the family had any idea that he was going to commit suicide.”
He also said that his brother was inspired by the legendary Indian freedom-fighter Bhagat Singh and had always wanted to join the Indian Army.
The report further adds that Kumar’s father, who works as a driver, had used his resources to open up a grocery store for him, so he could overcome his depression of not managing to crack the Army entrance exam.
The police have sent his body for postmortem.
