The unrest that began in Delhi University’s Ramjas college last week found its way to Chandigarh, where members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Students For Society (SFS) clashed against each other at the Panjab University on Monday.

The Police had to interfere after violence erupted over alleged ‘anti-national’ slogans being raised by the SFS at the campus. Four students from both the groups were arrested by the Chandigarh Police.

Monday’s clashes come on the back of violence from last week seen across the North Campus of the Delhi University where ABVP and AISA faced off against each other.

The row was over an invite by Ramjas College’s English Department to JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid to address students on “Culture of Protests”.
