  • A group of African students in the national capital called off their demonstration to protest the spate of assaults against the community after the government assured them of better security on 31 May.

  • The Association of African Students in India met with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Delhi Police Commissioner and the African Ambassador body, in separate meetings, and were assured of better security and safety.

  • They were also urged to not go ahead with their planned protest at Jantar Mantar in the Capital by the MEA, a sentiment echoed by the parents of deceased Congolese youth MK Olivier.
