#GoodNews: 10k Smartphones to Power Delhi Anganwadis’ Digital Leap
Workers currently have to maintain 18 different records manually.
Anganwadi centres in Delhi are set to receive a digital push as the Delhi government will distribute 10,000 smartphones for management purposes, reports The Times of India.
There are more than 10,700 Anganwadi centres in Delhi, which cater to 1.13 lakh three to six-year-old children and 4.37 lakh pregnant and lactating women.
Digital input will make the process more efficient, leaving more time for the welfare of the beneficiaries.
The government will also launch a curriculum for the three to six-year-old children of anganwadi workers, according to TOI.
Two apps have been developed for this purpose. The AWW app will allow for the recording of daily opening of the centres, UID-linked registration of members and real time monitoring of service delivery. Workers will also be able to send photographs of children receiving supplements, through the app.
The second app, which is called lady supervisor, will be focused on real time monitoring of child development services given to beneficiaries.
