IIT Guwahati Aspirants to Clear GATE For Masters in Feb 2018

Candidates interested in pursuing a masters and direct doctoral programmes in IITs need to clear the GATE exams.

IIT Guwahati is set to conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering in February 2018.

Candidates interested in pursuing a masters and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture and other branches of science at IITs across the country already need to appear for the GATE and clear the exam.

According to Indian Express, candidates can apply for the exams on the official website, gate.iitg.ac.in

Important dates to keep track of for GATE 2018:

  • Application process begins on 1 September
  • Last Date to apply: 5 October 2017
  • Admit cards will be provided on 5 January 2018 and the examination is set to happen on 3, 5 and 10 and 11 of February 2018 from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.
  • The results will be declared on 17 March 2018.

The examination consists of 65 questions in two sections. The paper carries 100 marks, and is to be completed in three hours. The questions will in both multiple-choice format as well as fill in the blanks format. While MCQs will carry negative marking for wrong answers, the fill in the blanks type questions will not have any negative marking associated.

The questions will be in general aptitude (15 marks), engineering mathematics (10-13 marks) and core engineering area chosen by the candidate.
