A woman in West Bengal’s Howrah district jumped off a building to escape being raped. Three people have been arrested in connection with her attempted rape, the police said on Monday.

The 20-year-old woman survived but had to be hospitalised for head injuries due to the incident that occurred on Sunday night.

The young woman had been invited by her boyfriend to his house in Liluah on the pretext of a celebration and was administered a spiked drink, the police said.

As soon she started to feel drowsy, the three men tried to force themselves on her. She jumped off the balcony from the second-floor building to save herself. On the basis of her complaint, we have arrested all the three accused.
