  • 11 suspected ISIS operatives, arrested for allegedly financing and recruiting people to join the terror group, on Monday moved the Delhi High Court seeking bail.

  • In their application, they alleged that the trial court had on 23 May dismissed their bail plea, despite the fact that neither a charge sheet was filed against them nor the period of their detention was extended.

  • They National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested them in January 2016, who claimed before the trial court that the accused were involved in a larger conspiracy of ISIS in India and abroad, including recruitment of resident and non-resident Indians.

  • NIA had alleged that during interrogation, the accused admitted to being involved in recruiting and financing persons willing to join the Caliphate of ISIS at Syria.
