Wild Animals to Be Killed if They Venture Into Human Habitat: SC

  • The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that wild animals can be killed if found outside forest areas and entering human habitat.



  • Public Interest Litigations (PIL) were filed by animal rights activist Gauri Maulekhi and Wildlife Rescue and Research Centre (WRRC) against the government notification.


  • The apex court asked the petitioners to give representation to respective state governments and the central government about their objections.
  • The matter will be heard in detail in SC starting 15 July.
