Sukma Naxal Attack: 19 Suspects Arrested in Chhattisgarh

The arrests have been made from the Chintalnar, Chintagufa and Kukanar areas of Chhattisgarh.

  • Nine people have been arrested from the Chintalnar and Chintagufa areas of Chhattisgarh and 10 others have been apprehended from Kukanar in connection with the Sukma Naxal attack, Sukma SP Abhishek Meena said on Saturday.
  • On 24 April, Naxals ambushed a patrol team from CRPF's 74th Battalion, killing 25 troopers and injuring seven others in one of the biggest Maoist attacks on CRPF jawans.
  • Home Minister Rajnath Singh has called a meeting to review the anti-Maoist strategy on 8 May, to be attended by chief ministers and top civil and police officers of Naxal-affected states.
