Stunning Mars Images Captured by Mangalayaan

Mangalyaan has sent back some amazing pictures of the Ophir Chasma terrain on Mars.

Mangalyaan or the ambitious space mission of India has sent back some amazing pictures of the Ophir Chasma terrain on Mars.

The 3D images were captured by the Mars Colour Camera over the area which is the part of a canyon on the Mars.

The International Astronomical Union has designated the term chasma as a reference to an elongated, steep-sided depression.

The images were captured on July 19, 2015, at an altitude of 1,857 km from the surface of Mars, ISRO said.
