Salman Khan to be India’s Goodwill Ambassador at Rio Olympics

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador for the Indian contingent at the Rio Olympics in 2016, on Saturday. India will be represented by names like Kavita Raut, Sanjeev Rajput, Mary Kom, Jitu Rai, Yogeshwar Dutt, Hardeep, SSP Chwrasia, and Dipa Karmarkar.

The official countdown to Rio de Janeiro Olympics 2016 began on Thursday, 21 April when the torch was lit at the site of the ancient Games in Olympia. A 15-week journey will lead to the 5 August opening ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.

Salman Khan is set to play a wrestler in his upcoming movie Sultan.
