The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Monday, made public the BA and MA degrees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought an apology from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for accusing the PM of lying about his educational qualification.

BJP president Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley held aloft the BA degree issued by Delhi University and the MA degree from Gujarat University at a press conference.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) responded, calling the degrees fake and forged.

Amit Shah and Arun Jaitley are no gods. The BA and MA degrees of the Prime Minister produced by them are fake as the names and years of the documents don’t match.

Citing discrepancies between the marksheet and the degree, AAP refused to apologise. Instead, the party demanded an apology from Jaitley and Shah.

BJP Supports Accuracy of Documents

Jaitley claimed that by raising this issue without any substantial proof, Kejriwal has lowered the level of politics. He has committed a sin to defame the nation. Kejriwal should apologise to the nation.

While Shah commented that it was very unfortunate that they had to hold this press meet to clarify the Prime Minister’s educational qualification status.

Responding to Ashutosh’s claims that the certificates are fake, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said Ashutosh did not go through all the documents properly.

In hurry and frustration, Ashutosh did not go through the complete documents and is misleading the country.

Clerical Errors Responsible for Discrepancies

Responding to AAP’s allegations, BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said the discrepancies in the names were “clerical mistakes”.

AAP claimed that the DU degree belonged to an Alwar-based man, whose name resembled that of the Prime Minister, but he has already clarified that he was in the commerce stream.

Regarding Modi’s master’s degrees in Political Science, he said the Gujarat University Vice Chancellor has also confirmed its authenticity.

Modi’s names in the BA mark sheet and certificate of 1978 were the same. As far as some differences in his names in other papers are concerned, these are nothing but clerical errors.
