Mallikarjun Kharge Opposes New CBI Director’s Appointment

• Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi opposing the appointment of new CBI chief Rakesh Asthana.
• Asthana has been chosen as the interim chief to replace Anil Sinha whose tenure ended last week.
• Apart from Congress, AAP has opposed the appointment who said Asthana will “manipulate cases.”
