The Karnataka government on Friday ordered an inquiry into the unnatural death of Deputy Superintendent of Police MK Ganpati, 51, who allegedly committed suicide on Thursday at Madikeri in Kodagu district.
Ganpati reportedly committed suicide in a private lodge in Madikeri in Karnataka on Thursday.
Deputy SP Ganapati, who was posted at the IGP office in Mangalore was found hanging in the lodge where a suicide note was also recovered.
In the note, the deceased officer reportedly named Congress leader and Bangalore City Development Minister–KJ George, his son and two senior police officers.
In an interview to CNN News 18, KJ George’s son said:
This is the second such incident this week. On Tuesday Chikkamagaluru’s Rural Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kalappa Handibagh, 34, hanged himself at Belagavi, about 500 km from Bengaluru.
