India is likely to boycott the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Pakistan. Doubts were expressed after the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker was left out of the dignitaries invited for the meet.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan who was invited clearly specified that she will not attend the meet if the J&K speaker is left out. She said that either the venue must be changed or the the Speaker must be invited.

The 61st Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference is scheduled to be held in Islamabad from September 30 to Octorber 8.

Pakistan has reportedly said that inviting the J&K Speaker would be in violation of a United Nations Security Council resolution.
