Hostage Situation Unfolding in Western Australia

A man strapped with explosives to his body has taken one person hostage in Bunbury, Western Australia.

A man armed with explosives has reportedly taken at least one person hostage in Western Australia.

ABC News reports the man has erected a sign with a series of demands and is holding police at bay in Bunbury. Police have confirmed the hostage situation but are not releasing any more information.

A park has been cordoned off and police, ambulance and firefighters are at the scene near the corner of Koombana Drive and Blair Street.

Reports suggest that the man may have explosives strapped to his body.
